Why Mafie
Sotto Casa.

This website was born from the need to channel the countless streams of anti-mafia activism flowing through the region into a common path of democracy. It aims to be a container to which individuals and associations can contribute to help the community better understand the mafia phenomenon.

Often, when we talk about organized crime, we think of places far from us. But that is not the case: we have the mafia on our doorstep.

A news story itself may seem irrelevant. But if that same information is networked and placed in a broader context, it can take on a different meaning and become a great help in understanding how organized crime operates in the area. And understanding is necessary to counter it. This is the need from which Mafie Sotto Casa was born.

This site is one of our many tools, open to all — from schools to individuals and institutions. We need your help. Because fighting the mafia means fighting for democracy, and that takes all of us. If you agree, your next step is simple: don’t close this tab! See how you can contribute right here.

About us

We are a bunch of friends coming from all over Emilia-Romagna — and indeed from across Italy — united by the idea of community and participation as the best tools for fighting the mafia mentality street by street and city by city.

For years, as individuals or as volunteers within various associations, we have built paths of civic consciousness and anti-mafia efforts in the region. In any context, from crowded squares to suburban parish halls, we roll up our sleeves to make sure that the dreams of those who defied the mafia — at the highest cost — become a reality.
